Offshore Transition

You may have a  gut-level instinct  that an in-house  ODC is the best option, but may lack the hard data to back it up; you may have already decided to build an in-house ODC and are looking for ways to accelerate the process and reduce the risk; or you  may know an  in-house ODC is the  right long term approach but  the pressing need to cut  costs now overshadows that long term goal.

How do you make sense of this? How do you put together a rationale plan to maximize value to your organization at a reasonable risk? Symbions can help. We have  a series of  service offerings  specifically designed to help  you plan the optimal structure for your organization.

If you feel that a dedicated ODC is the right approach for your organization, but need the help of experienced partner to build out the details of the plan, our Offshore Transition Consulting services are for you.

The ODC Charter documents the overall scope of the ODC; its purpose, its short and long term objectives, and the scope of activities it will perform.

The Value Proposition documents the qualitative and quantitative benefits you can expect to achieve through global delivery.
The Staffing Plan documents the expected resource levels housed in the ODC by skill set over time.

The Knowledge Transfer Approach documents the process for building the required set of skills and business processes in your offshore development center.

The Risk Management Approach documents the key business and technical risks associated with the ODC plan, and lays out an approach for mitigating those risks.

The Infrastructure Approach documents the requirements for a physical and technical infrastructure to support the ODC; it addresses facilities, computing hardware, software, and telecommunications.

The Operational Model defines how the ODC will be set up; be it a dedicated facility, a joint venture, a BOT or a virtual ODC.

The Implementation Approach documents the overall approach, timing, and high-level budget for building the ODC and for transitioning work to the ODC.

ODC Planning

Our ODC Planning  offer  builds  on the  offshore  transition  approach  deliverables  developed  in  an ODC Assessment approach & drives them to a  greater level of detail. ODC Planning moves beyond the ‘should we build an ODC’ question and answers the ‘how will we get it done’ question.

Working with your staff, Symbions will help develop specific plans for launching an ODC. The plan will list out the implementation details required based on the operational  model planned for the ODC. We will work with you to develop a  detailed staffing  transition plan with  specific knowledge  transfer activities; an if appropriate  a detailed  plan for building the ODC infrastructure.
